OFG Adoption Policies & Guidelines

  • Pups are adopted in groups of two same sex pairs, or occasionally three if three males are available. This is because gerbils are social animals who greatly enjoy and need companionship. Singletons tend to have a lower quality of life. An exception to this rule however, is when the adopter has an already single gerbil that the newly adopted friend can be introduced to.

  • Pups will not be adopted out before six weeks of age. Keeping pups with their parents for as long as possible allows the pups the opportunity to learn valuable skills, like drinking from a water bottle, socializing with peers, and more!

  • An adoption fee of $15 per gerbil is charged to ensure every gerbil goes to a good home!

  • Due to the unpredictability of nature, I cannot guarantee color preferences. Thank you for understanding.
